keeps my touch accessible, snug, & safe
I wanted to wear the case because I really didnt need another object in my pocket (ive already go a wallet, keys, cell phone, etc. to bulk them up). The clip holds the case securely on my belt, but is easy enough to take off when needed. Ive had a flip-lid case for PDAs in the past, which offers similar face protection and clip-ability, but found that the vertical orientation made it difficult to bend over without it getting in the way (when clipped above a front pocket). This horizontally oriented case keeps things very compact and allows a good range of body movement. (part of this may also be due to the smaller design of this iPod - as compared to my previous PDAs) Its also fairly hidden when I wear an untucked button-down shirt and doesnt put an odd lump at my side.
The velcro enclosure allows for quick and easy access to the iPod. Note that it does have to be pulled out of the case to allow for full touch-screen control. I would like to have seen a magnetic closure to avoid those times where a velcro "scraattch" sound might be too noticeable (checking it during a meeting, etc.).
One other small nuisance (which may actually have to do with the iPod design itself) is that when in the case, the headphone connector will be either positioned at the top or bottom (depending on how youve put it in the case) - if at the bottom, the case wont allow you to pull the iPod out without first disconnecting your headphones. When used with the headphone jack at the top... while it allows for pulling the iPod out with headphones attached, the volume control is now at the bottom of the case and mostly inaccessible (though I can manage to hit the volume-down button). Had Apple designed this iPod with the headphone jack on the bottom LEFT (the volume and power/sleep button are on the left side), this wouldnt be a problem.
Also, FYI, the unit cannot be charged while in the case. This isnt a huge issue for me, since when it is charging, I can easily have it stored where it wont get bumped/scratched/etc. Again, getting the iPod in and out of the case is very simple (even one-handed).
If youre looking for a case that allows you to keep your iPod with you and safe throughout the day, this is a good option! If you use it constantly as you might a PDA and dont want to have to remove it from the case each time, you may want to consider the flip-lid style case.

Pros: compact, simple & durable design, belt clip
Cons: velcro closure (can be noisy), limited iPod control when in the case

Works fine, BUT
I suppose I could put it out on the porch and wait for the smell to disperse but what do I do with my iPod in the meantime? Im going to take it back to the Apple Store.
Nice design, but they need to make it out of a different material.
