StarStarStarStarStar Great Holster, Bad Clip
User: Art Medina, Sep 5, 2008

Pros:  great holster, ease of use
Cons:  cheap plastic clip

Ive owned two of these with the 1st lasting a month and the 2nd two days. The clip is weak at the metal pin and breaks easily. I really like the holster part, but they need to upgrade the material for the clip.

User: Howard Feldman, Jul 18, 2008

Pros:  Slides in and lock into holster excellent
Cons:  Belt clip doesnts hold to bet to well

This is an ok clip. My only issue with it is the belt clip doesnt stay on my belt to well. It doesnt have teeth or a strong enough spring.
StarStarStarStarStar Griffin Elan Clip for iPhone 3GS
User: k zim, Feb 3, 2011

Pros:  easy access to buttons and screen
Cons:  clip does not grab well and no protection for top corners

When I bought the Griffin Elan Clip for iPhone 3GS I was actually looking for the older style which I had previously owned ( the clip had broken off after several months).
I was somewhat disappointed in the new design of the Griffin Elan Clip for iPhone 3GS - two reasons - First, the phone goes directly into the holster without any protective cover so if there is an oops I dropped it the potential for a damaged screen from hitting the top 2 exposed corners is very high.
Second - the clip does not grab securely enough to keep it securely attached to clothing or belt, and it becomes dislodged without you feeling the tug so I am constantly afraid of loosing my expensive phone someplace and not realizing it.
As I said earlier - I much preferred the older model whith the separate clear protective phone cover and much better clip - sorry.

I bought a Griffin Elan Clip for my 3G. My shirt frequently got caught between the phone and the clip, which would cause the phone to slip out. The clip regularly came off my belt. And eventually the phone just popped out on its own in the parking lot, and I got to replace the glass screen. There must be better holsters out there - this isnt one of them.
StarStarStarStarStar Weak clip
User: Gary Kline, Oct 16, 2008

Pros:  Nice style, easy access to buttons
Cons:  Clip not well designed

I have owned this product for about three weeks now and it has fallen off of my belt twice causing my new phone to hit the parking lot. The clip is weak and slippery. A CLIP REDESIGN IS CRITICALLY NEEDED. Do not buy the current version without testing it in a store first.
