StarStarStarStarStar Great travel item - doesnt work well with BBs
User: Raphael Alfred, Apr 7, 2010

Pros:  Easy to travel with
Cons:  Doesnt seem to supply enough amperage to charge BBs

I bought one of these from Bestbuy a few months ago for my work phone (BB) and personal phone (HTC Touch) for charging while traveling. The wall unit worked well for the HTC, but never seemed to do anything for the BB.

I recently compared the current it put out to the output of a BB wall charger and think i found the reason why I have trouble. The BB charge puts out 850mA of current to the phone, while this unit only puts out 500mA. Thus my reason for thinking it doesnt supply enough current to charge.

It will keep the BBs battery from draining, but just cant charge it.

I gave three, because it works - just not the way I intended it to work...

Hope this helps.
