StarStarStarStarStar Love it, love it, LOVE IT!!!
User: Jamie B, Aug 20, 2011

Pros:  durable, portable, wireless and hands free
Cons:  -

I used the old version for a year or two and loved it, so I tried the stereo version. It works with any USB compatible device for both media and phone use. My two most recent phones require a headphone to be plugged into the jack for FM radio use, and they used to get around this with a "dog tag" to wear around your neck that acted as an antennae. Now, I just use a droid application to receive media playback from radio stations or my own music without any extras! I dont have to worry about catching cords or necklaces on things at work. Safe and enjoyable!

User: Nancy Olson, Nov 5, 2010

Pros:  Light, unobtrusive, easy to use, great sound both out going and incoming
Cons:  Ear buds hurt my ears after a couple of hours

Overall a very worthwhile product. I do massage and get bored during hour after hour of silence during the massages so I listen to audiobooks with this headset. My client gets a great massage I am kept entertained while doing the massage.
StarStarStarStarStar Worth the dollars
User: T J, Sep 6, 2010

Pros:  Clear reception 30 ft away from sending device
Cons:  soft ear inserts wont stay on

I would give this ten stars but only one glitch. The inserts fall off when you take them in an out of your pocket. Its the only and I mean only defect. So I guess it is superglue to the rescue?

User: Andrew L, Sep 2, 2010

Pros:  Light, loud, clear, long battery
Cons:  None yet

I have had several sets of wired head phones to listen to music and calls on my 8530 curve. I found these and i gotta tell you, wires are definatly a thinkg of the past. they are just awesome. I know I sound like a kid here but I am a 47 year old kid that loves to listen to music. While riding my lawn mower through the yard I get loud clear music barely hear the mower and I never miss a call. I do not use these while driving the car as it blocks out to much out side noise but these are a must have. great bass great mid range. highly recommend

StarStarStarStarStar All my doubts were blown away -iphone 4g works
User: Coach Will, Jun 26, 2010

Pros:  Sound quality is full
Cons:  when accepting call from device, there is a delay b4 headset connects

I searched and searched and searched to get confirmation that the S9-HD worked with the iPhone 4G. When they arrived, I paired them up and all my doubts were blown away. First I noticed the pure premium sound, the range, the battery life, the comfort. Well done, well done.

I like these alot and they work good
StarStarStarStarStar good but problematic
User: Mark M, Jan 5, 2010

Pros:  Handy, easy to use, and good for working out
Cons:  earbuds fall off, and loses signal

The earphones overall are fantastic. They sound great, connect to my bluetooth easily enough and allow for me to workout without any issue. In fact, they are probably the best headset I have ever owned. My blackberry works beautifully with these and I am the envy of all my friends.

However, there are a few minor things I would like to see improved. Outside of the problem with line of sight which is easy to manage, I found myself losing the earbuds as they fall off rather easily. Although they are easy to replace, for what I paid for the headset I should not be experiencing this.

Besides that, for wireless headsets to train, ride, or use casually there is no equal as long as LOS is not an issue to you.
StarStarStarStarStar I love these headphones
User: Steve Loyall, Dec 4, 2009
I use these headphones everyday they work great I have two paire of them so when one goes dead I swap them out. Great product Motorola
StarStarStarStarStar Awesome!
User: Mike Ellinas, Nov 1, 2009

Pros:  Freedom, sound quality, ease of use, everything
Cons:  not good for outdoor use, but i bought exclusively for indoors

Used them at the gym today and they are awesome. I was able to set my phone down and roam the gym wirelessly. Furthermore, the fit is great and the sound quality was amazing. Very happy with these.

They do cut in and out when outdoors, but I dont want to use them outside so it didnt bother me one bit

Fantastic Stereo Bluetooth for working out! ULTRA LIGHTWEIGHT!
StarStarStarStarStar outstanding!
User: John Haas, Aug 8, 2009

Pros:  sound quality is great. easy to connect/operate
Cons:  no size adjustment

Not really a con, but apparently I have a big ol head and its just a bit tight. Its nothing I cant get used to or deal with though. The sound quality is incredible, both on the phone and when listening to music. So far it seems to be the exact product I need. I was pleasantly surprised at my ability to hear so clearly through the headphones and still be able to hear the world around me. Also, I havent talked to anybody that could tell I was on a Bluetooth headpiece yet!
StarStarStarStarStar Da Bomb
User: Mike Peskin, Jul 29, 2009

Pros:  Love it
Cons:  Dont walk too far away

This thing is awesome. I do ungodly amounts of cardio at home and at the gym. I love how easily it pairs to anything Bluetooth. I use it with my ipod in the gym and then when I get in the car it pairs with my phone instantly. This is the first "gadget" that has worked for me the way it was supposed to in forever....great find.
StarStarStarStarStar Excellent
User: Cynthia Young, Jul 9, 2009

Pros:  use its with my Storm and Netbook
Cons:  -

I really like my S9-HD Bluetooth Stereo headset. Crispy Cleans Clear sound. I use them with Storm on my workout or when Im listening to music from my netbook. Long battery life. Excellent !! worth the money
StarStarStarStarStar Wow - the sound is incredible - greater than expected!
User: Keith Wainauski, Jul 8, 2009

Pros:  Great sound, light weight, NO WIRES, built in microphone for calls
Cons:  Havent found any yet

Just got the headset in today and have been playing around with them for the past hour. I have a Iphone 3G and the headset works great with the phone and the 3.0 upgrade. Headset functions exactly as published and had really exceeded my expectations.
StarStarStarStarStar So Far So Good
User: J Craig, Jul 5, 2009

Pros:  Great Audio Quality For Media
Cons:  Spotty Reception

I picked these up after much research through Crackberry and other sites. I found them at a local Target store for 99 bundled with the Moto bluetooth iPod adapter. I picked that up so I could also get bluetooth with my Nano.

So far Ive had no real major issues with this headset. After fully charging I put them on and went outside to wash my car. A lot of the reviews and even parts of the instruction manual with the device itself made big mentions of spotty reception outdoors when there is nothing around to bounce signals off of. I had my 8900 in my front pocket and the signal quality rarely dropped. Maybe the signals were bouncing off the car so I didnt lose reception I dunno. But walking around the house and a walk around the neighborhood only occasional signal loss. It comes right back so Im able to deal with that when I weigh against constantly having wires tugged out of my ears.

Audio quality for music is amazing. Id always been weary of bluetooth for music but now Im a believer. The design of the headset is very light and you barely notice its there. However Ive got a rather thick neck and I wear glasses so rapid head turns and I was quickly reminded of their presence. I wouldnt call it a dealbreaker by any means just something to be aware of.

Ive had mixed results with the call quality. Everything sounds good on my end, but some have said my voice sounds hollow. Ive had some callers say very clear, and some say muffled. I think it has a lot to do with their phones as well so Im sketchy on the mic quality without a real way to solidly test. Since I do most of my chatting via text or IMs its really a non issue.

So far I would definitely recommend this headset.
StarStarStarStarStar Excellent All Around!
User: Alex Harker, Jul 4, 2009

Pros:  Solid build quality, Great sound, Works well on phone calls, Pairs easily, Extremely light weight
Cons:  Short battery life

These are by far the best pair of bluetooth headphones I have ever owned. I had a pair of Sony bluetooth headphones that I took back because I was worried about the build quality and how long they would hold up. That problem is totally gone with these. They hold tightly but not uncomfortably to my head and they are so light that it is easy to forget that they are even on! The sound quality is excellent on these, I have never used the non-HD version of these headphones but I can say that these sound great! I also throw them in my bag to take on the go quite a lot. Thats why it is extremely handy to have the neoprene pouch that comes in the box. I have never once worried that these might fall off or that they would get smashed in my bag. The other pro to these is that they are very small so you can easily wear them around while you are on the go, walking around town or riding the bus or train. I would easily recommend these headphones over any other one that I have tried.
StarStarStarStarStar This is a great purchase.
User: Patrick Julian, Jun 28, 2009

Pros:  Switches between your music and phone call when you press a button on the headphones.
Cons:  None

listen to your music and when you get a phone call, the music stops and allows you to talk on the phone and when youre done with the call the music picks up where it left off when the phone call came in.
StarStarStarStarStar Motorola S9-HD & iPhone 3G & Firmware 3.0 update
User: Marc Nevin, Jun 17, 2009

Pros:  Sound quality, feel, x8 devices
Cons:  -

Sound quality, volume level and comfort are great. Worth the money. Paid $130.00CAN. The iPhone 3g with Firmware 3.0 (released June 17th,2009) now works perfectly without additional adapter. Surprised the button for stop/start a track works as it is not supposed to be supported by iPhone 3g but it definitely works.
StarStarStarStarStar These things are AWESOME
User: Dee Roche, Apr 17, 2009

Pros:  Speaker Fidelity
Cons:  Battery Life (I dont ever want to take them off to charge)

These are absolutely the best headphones Ive ever had for my BB. Bar-none, wired, or not... (And Ive had a lot of them.) The output stereo speaker fidelity is amazing. The bass is huge for such small speakers, and the treble/midranges are crisp.

I use the set the most when I cycle, they fit comfortably and have never slipped even when Im really working it.

Like most bluetooth devices, the microphone pick-up seems to be intermitten in its clarity.

If you are looking for something to listen to music- Look no further.
StarStarStarStarStar Pleasantly Surprised
User: Jeff B, Apr 5, 2011

Pros:  Great Sound Quality (with the large ear cups)
Cons:  fail when you sweat.. not good for working out

I have used these for a year now and they are amazing. The sound quality is truly great (Im not sure what other peoples negative comments are about) and they break in quickly and are comfortable to wear. Battery life is VERY good, and making calls works very good with both my iPhone 3GS and my iPhone 4. The only flaws are that the ear cups come off easy if youre throwing them in a back pack or something similar (easy to lose) and these things dont do moisture. sweating at the Gym on the treadmill caused them to stop working for a day or so until the sweat completely evaporated out. Because of the sound quality light weight, LACK OF WIRES, good battery life (Ive used them for 6 hours straight at work without having to re-charge) Id highly recommend them. Oh one more thing.. the range is great. I get about 30-40 feet from my iPhone before the signal degrades, but strangely when I have my phone in my pocket and Im walking, the motion seems to mess with the signal. strange.
StarStarStarStarStar Long play time. not Up to 6 hours of music play from a single charge
User: Jae C Rho, Nov 13, 2010
it is working good and easy to use.
but In my case, battery long play time is not up 6 hours.
battery play time was just up to 4 hours of music play from a single charge. that`s why i bought it one more S9 to work outsind.
StarStarStarStarStar Good buy for the money
User: Lance Brantley, Oct 28, 2010

Pros:  light weight and easy to use
Cons:  short battery life

The sound quality of the these headphones are great. Their light weight, you barley know their there. The controls are easy to find and operate. The only bad thing about them is the battery wont hold a charge when its turned off.
StarStarStarStarStar S9 HD
User: robert baggs, Sep 4, 2010

Pros:  great sound - better than others by far for bass
Cons:  0nly 400 charges - what do we do then??

Certainly preferable to the very few others on the market,
but synching is unpredictable.
StarStarStarStarStar Great sound
User: Jonathan Woods, Apr 28, 2010

Pros:  great sound quality !
Cons:  trouble with fast forward and back .

I have i phone 3gs and can not get the fast forward or back buttons to work. The pause button works fine. The sound is great.
StarStarStarStarStar SOUND OK, RANGE INCREDIBLE, TIGHT ON THE EARS
User: TED MOYER, Apr 27, 2010

Pros:  -
Cons:  EAR PLUGS POP OFF WAY TOO EASY

HD FUNCTION IS JUST TO MAKE YOU PAY MORE

FIT CAN BE A BIT SNUG, PER MOTO JUST PULL THEM APART AND THEY WILL STRETCH

SOUND QUALITY IS GREAT, I WOULD LIKE A BIT LOUDER
StarStarStarStarStar Motorola S9-HD
User: Gary James, Nov 23, 2009

Pros:  Sound quality is excellent/Hands free reception is clear
Cons:  Design should allow you to raise them to top of your head so you can lay down

This headset is actually better than i expected, esp.the sound quality!!!
The controls are easy to work and the in call clarity is pretty clear!!!
The back of the headset does battle with your shirt collar or jacket collar, but not that big of a deal.Unit pared right up with my 3gs with no code required!Got it to pare with my Ps3 as well!

Draw back:Forget about jogging with it or hitting the treadmill. It bounces up and down and gets pretty annoying!!!Also i hear minimal amount of sweat will render it useless!!!
I do recommend this unit for everyday casual use not for the gym workout!!!
My biggest problem is not with the unit but with Apple and their bs.The skip fwd and back buttons dont work with the iphone(pretty lame)because of apple settings.Theirs also no auto-answer function on the 3gs wich would be great because this unit fits with my full-face motorcycle helmet!!!(Big Plus--apple get your ish together)
StarStarStarStarStar Not a bad deal!
User: E Chames, Sep 10, 2009
For the most part, these headphones are well worth the money. I have used them a few times and I really enjoy the sound...its like having a concert in your head...wow.

I would much rather they be adjustable, though. They hang sorta low on the back of my head. I cant put a towel around my neck at the gym. Also, another gym goer brought it to my attention that the headphones forward and reverse buttons dont work with the bluetooth settings on the iPod Touch 2nd Gen. I tried it with mine, and he was right! I could forward or rewind on it! That sucked! I was just glad that I had certain playlists that I didnt need to cycle through!
StarStarStarStarStar Works great
User: Paul D, Aug 25, 2009
I recently bought these for my walks/running. I can keep my cell in my pockets (jeans for walks, shorts for running) and listen to my music, as well as FWD/RWD on my Pre. I have not had a problem others have mentioned and have gotten used to the feel of it. It feels a little awkward the first few times but it is a snug fit, which is perfect for running.

The only con is the look - not everybody understands what it is they are looking at or what Im wearing on my head.

Its okay, because I give them the same look on their wired headsets - WIRED? Really? How primitive!
StarStarStarStarStar great headphones, but...
User: Chris Treister, Jun 26, 2009

Pros:  Amazing sound, comfortable, attractive
Cons:  Pause/Play, Track selector not working w/ iPhone 3Gs

Amazing sound, comfortable, and attractive... But Pause/Play, Track selector not working w/ iPhone 3Gs
StarStarStarStarStar Not bad, but cuts with dash bt
User: Bob Smith, Mar 27, 2009
Sound quality is good, but unless it is fully charged, sound tends to cut out on the go.
StarStarStarStarStar Great stereo set.
User: Mike B., Feb 14, 2009

Pros:  Great sound, Light weight and Great controls
Cons:  Could use adjustable arms to conture to ones head.

I purchased this stereo headset for my LG Dare. It connected very well and fast. The sound quality was excellent and so was the call quality. Hi Def really makes a difference!! The pevious model(s9) you can only hear through one side when making calls, with this model the sound for calls come in both sides which is great. The controls of the headset have some getting use to but after awhile it is very simple and easy to use. I gave it a 4/5 because everyones head is a different size and shape and wish I can adjust the arms just alittle to conture my head. Other than that I take this headset where ever I go.
StarStarStarStarStar Good sound quality, great for working out
User: Bill Wood, Dec 11, 2008

Pros:  Light, good sound, snug fit, good bass and sound balance
Cons:  SRS-WOW is on by default and must be turned off whenever you turn the headphones on

I just got the Motorola S9-HD, having previously used the original S9s with the red trim. The S9 came with two sets of ear buds, one smaller set with a large opening to the ear and one larger set with a smaller opening. The larger set fit more snugly in your ear but had excessive bass. The new S9-HD ships with the same large earbuds, but the bass has been tamed and sounds much less boomy. They compare favorably in overall balance to my Grado SR-80s, although obviously not nearly as smooth and open, nor with as good treble response.

For working out or casual listening, the S9-HDs cant be beat. They are snug on your head and unobtrusive. Outdoors, they tend to lose the signal unless your phone is line-of-site to the headset (because the bluetooth signal has nothing to reflect off of), but this seems to have improved over the original S9 although I havent been able to test them enough outdoors yet to say definitively.

These work well as a phone headset, the sound is now present in both ears (the original S9s only worked in the left ear for phone calls).

Im not giving them 5 stars because, while theyve improved significantly over the original S9 in sound quality, they are still not audiophile quality (although its possible the Bluetooth stereo compression scheme used by my Verizon Blackberry Pearl 8130 is at a low bitrate and is reducing quality). Also, they default to SRS-WOW turned on, which sucks - SRS-WOW distorts the sound and makes the bass out of phase. Be sure to turn this off by pressing and holding the "next track" () button for several seconds.
StarStarStarStarStar Drops audio a lot.
User: Curtis Flekke, Nov 17, 2011

Pros:  Great sound, easy setup on HTC HD7
Cons:  Drops audio a lot.

Received the S9-HD yesterday. Setup was smooth and connected without problems to my HTC HD7.
Called a friend who said the sound on the receiving end was good.
While playing music the audio seems to drop out often.
Sound is great, but irritating with all the drops.
Could be more comfortable and moves when the headset hits the collar of my shirt.

StarStarStarStarStar Works Great for about 3 months
User: Sky K, Mar 14, 2011

Pros:  -
Cons:  Buttons slowly fail

Im on my fourth pair. The buttons go out after 3 months and then you cant control. I do use it in the gym and sweat on it, maybe that is a factor. When working properly it sounds great.
StarStarStarStarStar these need to come in different sizes
User: James Melsoner, May 5, 2010

Pros:  Great sound
Cons:  Does not fit me hurts my ears

Did they test these on people bigger than 5. I am a big guy I am 63" I bought these to wear while I was cycling. These are basically useless for me as soon as I get them on and tilt my head back to look forward while cycling it pulls both my ears back because the arms are not long enough. This is very frustrating, I dont need a facelift that badly. Sound quality while sitting at my desk writing code they are fine, but this is not what I bought them for. Very dissapointed.
StarStarStarStarStar Needs and firmware update
User: Bell NSEKE, Apr 11, 2010

Pros:  sounds ok but not that wow experience
Cons:  very bad when using it to have audio when watching a video

this device seems to enter some kind of coding mode when used as an audio source to watch video (on iPhone 3 GS or MacBook Pro): sound is somewhat lagging giving you the impressions that the video is a beat ahead (syncing is very poor).
AVRCP on the iPhone not fully compatible. I checked my BT profiles on my phone and my MBP: they support A2DP and AVRCP. Seems to work fine on my MB Pro (not all the time though) but not on my iPhone 3GS.
StarStarStarStarStar skip feature doesnt work
User: Faith Everest, Jan 5, 2010

Pros:  excellent comfort and sound quality
Cons:  the forward/backward skip buttons dont seem to work on my ipod

Although I really like the sound, design and comfort that the motorkr offers, I am a little disappointed that I cant get the skip song buttons to work. Every time I try to skip a track it just beeps at me almost like it doesnt support that function. I have the iPod touch 3G, not the phone. I was told that they should be compatible but Im beginning to think otherwise. If anyone can give me some feedback as to why these features wont work for my iPod, I would be thankful. By the way, this is my third Motorkr that I have purchased within the past three months thinking that maybe I had a bunk one before. If I cant get this one to work for me I will be returning it for the third and final time.
StarStarStarStarStar eh.. not for heavy use
User: shane arnettt, Oct 1, 2009

Pros:  sounds great!
Cons:  cheaply built

I used the set while framing my room addition and it did ok. A little skip here and there, but all in all sounded great. The problem I have with it is that it is falling apart. The selector buttons on the sides have come unglued and the volume will not turn down now. I also would like to adjust my sounds with the built in EQ on my storm, I can do it with my regular headphones but not with these.

Would not buy again,
StarStarStarStarStar Great sound spotty reception outdoors
User: J L, Aug 5, 2009
The sound is excellent compared to all other headphones. Best used indoors. Once you venture outdoors, these headphones do not hold a steady connection even with your BlackBerry in your front pocket. The best performance outdoors Ive had is when my BlackBerry is sitting in the mesh water bottle pocket found on most backpacks these days -- assuming you keep your backpack on your back. Once you put the backpack on the ground, sound will start to cut out again.

If your outdoor activities involve wearing a backpack - as mine does (cycling) - these will work. Anything else . . . good luck.

The price should be lower considering the inadequate performance outdoors.
StarStarStarStarStar Good(ish)
User: Xerxes T Billy, Jul 24, 2009

Pros:  Good fitting, great sound
Cons:  Lose of connection outdoors, poor microphone

Previously had Sony BT-30 bluetooth headphones but found them rather heavy and ill fitting hanging off my ears and sound carried very easily to those around me.

After finding the right fitting ear-buds S9 were much more comfortable (at least for short periods), better fitting and the sound was considerably better and didnt annoy my neighbo(u)rs.

The bluetooth connection does cut out in some areas outside but it is manageable and had the same problem with the Sonys
StarStarStarStarStar Good for music as long as you stay indoors
User: His Majesty Genghis, Jun 5, 2009

Pros:  Excellent sound quality for music and movie purposes
Cons:  Worthless outdoors because of the constant audio drop

The design of the S9-HD is an improvement of its predecessor (the S9), because (so far) the issue of moisture corrupting the controls and rendering them inoperable has been resolved. The S9 also required too light a touch to forward the track to increase/decrease the volume. With the S9-HD, you actually have to push the buttons to receive the desired effect.

The stereo sound is great on the S9-HD when listening to music and to me, the voice sounded ok as well (Ive listened to voice messages Ive left to test the sound of my voice on the receiving end). By the way, phone calls are also in stereo. However, most people Ive spoken to say the sound is muffled.

The level of excellence of this unit while indoors and in the car, is matched only by its worthlessness when outdoors due to the constant breaks in the audio. This occurs during MP3 use, radio use, and during calls. This was a problem with the S9 as well. And no combination of where you hold the unit or how far away from the headset you keep the unit solves the issue, as has been suggested in many forums. You may receive clear continuous sound when you are standing completely still, but you cannot walk, or even exercise while seated, when using this unit outdoors.

This is a pretty ridiculous flaw for an item that is intended for music and telephone calls. Motorola is aware of this defect but continues to list the S9-HD sale on its official website.
StarStarStarStarStar sacrificing sound quality for convenience
User: patrick donaldson, Dec 6, 2008

Pros:  hands free wireless
Cons:  poor sound quality

Very well made piece of technology. Unfortunately, it sounds like your listening to a tape deck player rather than digital mp3 audio.
StarStarStarStarStar Broke after 2 months
User: Bruce Wilson, Jan 16, 2012
I bought this headset at Best Buy. While it was working it was decent. The headset mounted controls are nice and its reasonably comfortable. The ear pieces fell out pretty easily. After two months, it quit working. No drops, nothing I can cite as a reason. It was playing, and just quit working. Wont charge, no lights, no nothing.
StarStarStarStarStar Controls Stopped working after Work Out.
User: Josh Burkhart, Jan 5, 2012

Pros:  Comfortable, Fast Connection, Great Sound Quality
Cons:  No Microphone, Not durable for working out and sweating.

I bought these because I wanted some head phones to work out with. No wires makes them seem ideal. In many ways they are. They have great sound quality, the ear buds are comfortable and the device doesnt jiggle around while Im running. But after the first week using them the controls stopped working. They dont hold up to the sweat. The pair that I have still connect to my BlackBerry Strom2 9950 and I will still use them as long as the Phone contols are able to manage the device. The play button has to be repressed when it recieves incoming texts, e-mails, and phone calls. The buttons not working make it distracting to use. They have an accept call button but there is no speaker on the device, so the phone has to be within voice range to work.
StarStarStarStarStar S9-HD were better
User: Brad Cox, Dec 13, 2011

Pros:  Better battery life
Cons:  They hurt and dont sound nearly as good

I have owned both the s9-hds and the s10-hds

The 9s had much better sound and fit alot better

The 10s had a much better battery life, i like the earbud design better but they hurt ALOT after wearing them for more than 5 min. I have a relativly large head, so if you also have a large head, get the 9s instead.
StarStarStarStarStar While it works, good. Looses one channel.
User: Terry Dankel, Sep 12, 2011

Pros:  Lightweight, comfortable
Cons:  Not a long-time player, looses one channel

While this unit worked, it pleased me while working with a couple different cellphones which also limelighted as media players. Have seen in reviews that one channel will drop out after some use..and I experienced the same thing with a little over two years infrequent use. Looking for replacement as using with just one channel is the same as my current Bluetooth earpiece.
StarStarStarStarStar Not as good as it should be
User: Bob Browning, Nov 10, 2010

Pros:  cordless stereo
Cons:  doesnt work sometimes, gives echo to person you called

I bought this to use with my MOTO DROID. Frequently, people I call tell me they have a very annoying echo of their speech, though I dont hear that nor do I have an echo. This doesnt happen with another single ear blue tooth ear bud I have. Sometimes the buttons act like you didnt press them. Other consistent irritating issues, which could be the phone and not the headphones are just after a call is made, either by voice command or manually via the phones touch screen, the phone starts to use the headphones, then drops that connection, and you have to manually engage the headset. This is terrible if one if driving, and I just hang up rather than fumble with the phone.

Listening to music is wonderful. If you get a call when listening to music, it is a simple thing to just hit the answer button on the headphones and the music is muted while you carry on your conversation.

If you can try before you buy, Id recommend doing that. I havent tried any other stereo bluetooth headphones, but trying several before buying could reward you with a product that doesnt have this ones downsides.
StarStarStarStarStar Constant dropoouts
User: Steven Heath, Oct 17, 2010

Pros:  Good sound/easy controls
Cons:  Sore ears from prolonged use, constant audio dropouts when walking

A stylish device but the cons far outweigh the pros and the sore ears refer not to sound quality but from the tightness of the band.
StarStarStarStarStar Do not work out with these!
User: Mark Niblo, Feb 16, 2010

Pros:  Good for casual listening
Cons:  Any moisture at all will trash them

I used mine at home around the house with no problems and was very happy with it. That all changed the day I decided to wear them on a treadmill at the gym. They started to make funky noises and then quit. A quick search on the internet turned up many many problems like this. Bottom line, if you are going to sweat, dont use them. Because once they get wet, they will never ever work again.
StarStarStarStarStar Dont sweat
User: T Hudspeth, Nov 2, 2009

Pros:  when they worked they were great
Cons:  after a good sweat they are useless

When I first got them I had to get use to the fit, they feel very odd at first. They lasted for three runs and two work outs before they went haywire. The volume goes up and down on its own, there is a constant beeping in the headset and the battery last only about 1 hour.

These are the same problems reported about the original S9s had and why I spent $30 more for the S9-HDs. They were suppose to have fixed all the problems but they are still there. DONT WASTE YOU MONEY! I gave 2 stars because when they were working they were great.
StarStarStarStarStar The Idea Of Wireless Headphones Sounds Good, Until You Actually Hear Them
User: Nathan Daniels, Jul 11, 2009

Pros:  Lightweight, comfortable, decent battery life
Cons:  Battery is not replaceable, audio is worse than Apples included headphones

I bought these to use with my iPhone 3G after the 3.0 software release. I assumed the "HD" meant that the audio quality would be good. Its not. If youre wondering what these sound like, just imagine re-encoding all of your music at 64 kbps MP3. Really, its that bad. For podcasts, movies, or TV shows, Im sure these sound fine. But for music, they sound pretty darn bad. You know how most people think the included Apple earbuds have poor sound quality? I was hoping these would sound at least as good as the Apple ones (you know, because theyre three times as expensive) but the Apple ones have better sound. Im pretty sure the sound quality problem is in the wireless transmission, and not the little speakers. Ive read some about how A2DP works, and it should be possible to get better quality audio to transfer. Im not sure if its a limitation of the iPhone 3G or the S9-HD, but for anyone who cares about audio quality at all, these two devices do not sound good together.
StarStarStarStarStar Cut out (2 pairs) BB storm and Bold
User: Mark Honard, Jul 2, 2009

Pros:  Size
Cons:  Connection

I tried 2 sets of these headphones on two BB (Storm and Bold) and had issues with sound dropping out (appeared to be bluetooth connection). Tried Best Buy Insigna Bluetooth headphones on the same blackberries with no issues. Never could figure out the problem but returned both pairs of S9-HDs
StarStarStarStarStar Wanted to love them, but
User: Warren W, Jun 24, 2009

Pros:  light weight good sound
Cons:  no signal with phone in pocket

I got these so I could bike and workout without the hassle of cables.
When I first tried them I had my phone on the counter and I listened to music files, pandora, and even made a few phone calls. They sounded great and the person on the other line said that I sounded very clear - they would have never guessed that I was on a bluetooth headset.
I was also able to roam around my house - distances over 30 ft - while still getting a clear connection.
I took them to work the next day for my afternoon bike ride and it worked great - until I put my phone in my shorts pocket. Once my phone hit my pocket - the sound kept cutting out which made it unbearable to listen too.

If you can carry your device or keep it in sight, I think this is a great set of headphones, but if you have put your device/phone in a pocket to carry - I cannot recommend it.
StarStarStarStarStar Quality not in this headset
User: John Staples, Jun 19, 2009

Pros:  Great sound
Cons:  Quality is horrific

This is by far the worst A2DP headset I have ever used. Outdoors it is useless and please by all means never sweat with this headset on or you will be throwing them away. They are such a horrible build in quality that Best Buy will not even sell you a two year service warranty because like many of us Best Buy does not like to throw money down the drain. If you buy one of these headsets I really wish you well on these things lasting more than 4 months, and I mean that sincerely.
StarStarStarStarStar Needs work.

This is an eye catching product, but aftertesting it with several devices the same resuklt prevails, it skips the track, the audio quality is ok but not execellent and it lacks flexibility to adjust to you head an ear contour.

Maybe newer model will take this into account.
StarStarStarStarStar BEWARE..Read up on "Blinking Green Light Issues"!
User: Chris Richardson, Nov 17, 2010

Pros:  Advertised as Workout Style Headphones
Cons:  Warranty says not to get them wet!

expensive headphones, pretty comfortable, but they have build quality issues, and burn out or have button issues A LOT! DO NOT PURCHASE!
StarStarStarStarStar Whats the point
User: William Ruffenach, Aug 5, 2010
Whats the point of having headphones if you cant even put your phone in your pocket? The range is about a foot and you cant even have it in front of you because your head blocks the antena!
StarStarStarStarStar These are horrible if you are using video!!
User: Eric Toop, Jun 21, 2010

Pros:  Sound great as long as you are within 3 feet of your iPhone
Cons:  Horrible connection, Too much lag for using it with videos

I mainly use my phone for video. I was really disappointed with these as the lag was just too great to watch a show. When using audio they would skip out every 10 seconds if I had my phone in my pocket. Come on now..3 feet really? can they do better than that?

It worked great when I had my phone in my shirt pocket (1 foot away)
StarStarStarStarStar Poor Quality & Customer Service - Buyer Beware!
User: Dwight Linden, Jul 28, 2009

Pros:  Great sound when they actually worked
Cons:  You cant sweat in them! Terrible customer support!

After the first use my headset went bad - sound/button problem because I used them while sweating. I used them when working out and like so many complaints I found after doing a google search, only the volume down button worked. Plus, my charge was only lasting 1 hour. I tried using the headphones a few more times but it is pretty pointless to use them when the sounds is so low that you need complete silence all around you to hear anything.
I tried using mine in the gym and when bicycling.
Evidently, you cant let any sweat get on the headphones, or the buttons go bad. Even though the box says these are sweat-resistant and they have a David Beckham limited edition, which is targeted at sports-minded people, these things dont stand up to even mild sweat!! Do a google search to see how many complaints there are about these headphones. This sweat problem has been around since the S9 and the problem is still not fixed in the S9-HD version! Dont they field-test these things or dont they care about quality control at the factory in China where these are produced??? Plus, see the YouTube video which shows one recommended work-around by spraying the headphones with hairspray before using, in order to creat a type of protective sealant against any form of perspiration.
Additionally, Motorola support is pretty useless. After making it through the voice-activated call-screening system I received "help" from a tech who really didnt seem very keen in helping me. My problem is that I bought my headsets when back home in the US, but I live and work overseas. Motorola, for being an international company, does not provide INTERNATIONAL support!!!! When I repeatedly asked to speak with his supervisor, he refused and said they have no supervisors available. After the 5th request to speak with a supervisor I gave up on that idea. He finally relented from my insistence and told me that they will ship me a replacement product to a relatives address in the US (great... now I have to wait until December to have my second pair break within a few days!!).
I will repeat the refrain of so many others. DONT BUY THIS PRODUCT and avoid the hassles of dealing with poor product quality and poor support.
By the way, in my google search I came across so many complaints of people replacing these headphones between 3 and 13(!!!!) times!!!!
StarStarStarStarStar dont use it in a gym
User: david kingen, Jul 6, 2009

Pros:  no wires
Cons:  brakes up too much

not worth the $120.00.maybe if it was $10.00 you could justify paying for something made so cheap .the signal breakup is too annoying for the price i paid.im glad the store took it back .that is the worst investment i ever made.
StarStarStarStarStar Awful Range
User: Jason Protheroe, Jul 2, 2009

Pros:  Good sound quality
Cons:  Zero range

I was really excited to get these as I really wanted a nice wireless headphone and hands-free combo for running or walking the dog. However, the audio rarely was constant. I dont understand why they cant make this work. My jawbone II is able to work just fine with my phone in the same position. The S9-HD is three times the size of the jawbone at least. So, why is Moto not able to load this up with antennas to get better range. I ended up returning it and just settling for a cheap set of wired headphones with a mic.

Pros:  Decent sound quality, easy to set up.
Cons:  Feels like an ice pick in your ear.

These headphones would be great if they werent so uncomfortable.
